Georgian Help Sought for Possible Iran Strike

Although there has been no formal request by U.S. officials, it's reported that unofficial overtures have been made to the government of Georgia.

From JPost.com:

American officials have been quietly probing whether Georgia, situated just northwest of Iran, will be willing to allow Washington to use its military bases and airfields in the event of a military conflict with Teheran, The Jerusalem Post has been told.

The Americans have been putting out feelers, a high-ranking Georgian government foreign affairs official told the Post, in advance of a possible military strike to prevent Iran from achieving nuclear weapons capability.

Georgian officials expressed fear of civil unrest and possible harsh Iranian retaliation but, given their dependence on American aid and support, feel obligated to help the U.S. There's also the already-strained Georgian relationship with Russia to consider.

Considering the negatives, American forces attacking Iran from Georgia seems like a longshot to me but, even so, it's on the table. Also being considered is the use of airfields and bases in Azerbaijan, another close ally of the U.S. Officially, everybody everywhere is denying everything. However, despite the denials, Iran appears to be taking the situation quite seriously.

Brit Muslims Declare Victory in Cartoon War

From the Telegraph (UK):

For the past two weeks, Patrick Sookhdeo has been canvassing the opinions of Muslim clerics in Britain on the row over the cartoons featuring images of Mohammed that were first published in Denmark and then reprinted in several other European countries.

"They think they have won the debate," he says with a sigh. "They believe that the British Government has capitulated to them, because it feared the consequences if it did not.

"The cartoons, you see, have not been published in this country, and the Government has been very critical of those countries in which they were published. To many of the Islamic clerics, that's a clear victory.

"It's confirmation of what they believe to be a familiar pattern: if spokesmen for British Muslims threaten what they call 'adverse consequences' - violence to the rest of us - then the British Government will cave in. I think it is a very dangerous precedent."

Guess what? They have won, for now. Here, too, unless you can think of a major news outlet in this country that has published a Mohammed cartoon.

The Press is opposed to upsetting Muslim sensibilities, unless, of course, they have some juicy video of British soldiers grabbing young Iraqi rock-throwers or some old photos from Abu Ghraib.

Cartoon Jihadis Attack US Embassy In Indonesia

From MSNBC:

JAKARTA, Indonesia - Hundreds of Muslims protesting caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad tried to storm the U.S. Embassy on Sunday, smashing the windows of a guard post but failing to push through the gates. Several people were injured.

Pakistani security forces, meanwhile, sealed off the capital of Islamabad to block a planned mass demonstration and fired tear gas and gunshots to chase off protesters. In Turkey, tens of thousands gathered in Istanbul chanting slogans against Denmark, Israel and the United States.

Talk about boneheaded ignorance. No, not the cartoon jihadis; I'm talking about the American mainstream media who thought they could appease these savages by refusing to print the Mohammed cartoons.

The Blog Sabbath

Remember the Blog Sabbath, to keep it Holy. Six days thou shalt blog, but one day a week is a sabbath unto the Lord of the Blogosphere.

Just a reminder to loyal minions that I do not blog on Sunday. I call it the 'Blog Sabbath'. I'd advise other bloggers to take a day off, too. A day spent away from a computer screen. A day to recharge your batteries. A day to reconnect with family and friends. A day to remind yourself that the most important things in life are the relationships you build, and not politics.

Iran Threatens Suicide Bomber Attacks

An Iranian group calling itself "Martyrdom Seekers" is threatening the US and the UK with mass suicide bomb attacks against Coalition forces in Iraq if Iran's nuclear facilities are attacked. Though ostensibly unofficial, no group would be allowed to make such an announcement without the consent of Iran's government:

Mohammad Ali Samadi, spokesman for Esteshadion, or Martyrdom Seekers, boasted of having hundreds of potential bombers in his talk at a seminar on suicide-bombings tactics at Tehran's Khajeh Nasir University.

"With more than 1,000 trained martyrdom-seekers, we are ready to attack the American and British sensitive points if they attack Iran's nuclear facilities," Samadi said.

"If they strike, we have a lot of volunteers. Their (U.S. and British) sensitive places are quiet close to Iranian borders," Samadi said.

Samadi reviewed the history of suicide bombing as a weapon, praising it as the most effective Palestinian tactic in their confrontation with Israel.

They have "trained martyrdom seekers"?

"Here Ahmed, put this on, find a group of children, push this button."

Indian-American-Indian Ups Ante On The Filthy One

Indian state minister ups the fatwa money.

Amidst protests in Uttar Pradesh against the caricatures of Prophet Mohammed, a state minister Friday announced a reward of Rs.510 million ($11.5 million) for anyone who beheaded the artists responsible for the cartoons.

Looks like we need to set up a donation system for The Filthy Report.

Taliban Supporters Behind New York Rally Against Muhammed Cartoons

I have already posted about the fact that the Islamic Thinkers Society was behind the New York rally in front of the Danish embassy. This is the same group that burned the American flag, celebrated 9/11, and warned that 'next time, we will get all of NYC.' Here is an admission from the group that they a) organized the rally to condemn the Muhammed cartoon b) share the same goals as al Qaeda and the Taliban--the revival of the Caliphate, institution of sharia (Islamic) law, the building of a utopian Islamic society, and the domination of the world by Muslims

Here is a screenshot of the announcement from their webpage. [click to zoom]

And a statement of their goals:

Our objective is to resume the Islamic way of life to which will fulfill the purpose of the aim. Our objective is to bring back the apparatus that was destroyed in 1924 i.e. Khilafah. Indeed it was the Khilafah that united the Muslim Ummah under one flag, one land, one border, and one leader. It was the Khilafah which served as the appartus to make sure that Tawheed manifested in all ascpect in the Muslim Ummah's affairs. Surely, anyone who accepts any other system than Allah's Shari'ah is worshipping the one who has put his laws in place of the laws of Allah. This is a major form of shirk and anyone who commits a major shirk has left Islam....
Let me remind you that the penalty for leaving Islam, especially under their version of sharia, is death. More:
This is what we, as part of Islamic Thinkers Society strive for. To create the ideal Islamic society, where the furqan(criterion) for the individuals as well as the rulers will be the Qur'an & Sunnah and the Qur'an & Sunnah only. As always, our struggle is intellectual & political. To us, this is a matter of life & death. A matter of jannah & jahannam. It requires seriousness, dedication, & sabr.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have found the American Taliban, and it is operating openly in New York City!

According to their own website, they are 'less than a handful of people'. Here is a photo of the rally by 'less than a handful of people'. I hope the FBI is keeping close tabs on this group of extremists. The MSM certainly isn't.

Do they really support terrorism? YES!

From their forum rules:

ABSOLUTELELY NO RIDICULING OF THE MUJAHIDEEN, THE SCHOLARS OF HAQQ, & THE SINCERE DA'WAH CARRIERS OF ISLAM.
Yup, they're just upset over the Muhammed cartoons.

Oh, and what do we have hear? It appears that The Jawa Report has been brought to the attention of this little band of terror supporters. The referring url takes us back to a discussion forum run by the Islamic Thinkers Society. I wonder what I could have said that would piss them off?

I'll Call Your Fatwa, and Raise you $1 Milllion

A Pakistani Muslim cleric, Mohammed Yousef Qureshi, has issued a fatwa and offered up to $1 million to any one of the few misunderstanders of jihad who will kill Danish cartoonists involved in drawing images of Muhammed. Filthy Allah ups the ante and offers $2 million for the first guy to kill Qureshi. I guess two can play at that game? Unfortunately, only one of them is kidding.

Alec Baldwin Reaffirms His Status...

...As An Imbecile
I love it when certain Hollywood types fly into snits and babble witlessly in public:

So, I suppose the question is...what kind of civil trial will we see, or not see, between Cheney and Whittington? Whittington is certainly no stranger to a court room and to civil litigation. Will Cheney pay him off, preemptively? Will they go to court? I would imagine if a guy with a few beers in him shoots you in the face on a hunting trip, how could you turn down that opportunity?
Let's say there's a civil lawsuit filed...by the Veep against Alec and Arianna for malicious libel. But let's not interrupt Alec while he's busy showing his ass: more...
